I was so out of it today. Probably has something to do with me waking up at 4am to workout but I didn’t need to be a work until 1pm so there was no reason for me to be up that early. Why am I like this?
Anyway, went to a bell ringing and a church service in remembrance for the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
It was media day at the Kannaplolis Intimidators.
My first two assignments were Easter related, one was at Patterson Farms and the other was at Lazy 5 Ranch. The one at Lazy 5 was really cool because they dropped eggs from a helicopter. My last assignment was a bible study party in memory of Ayanna Allen, who was shot to death in a drive by shooting at her house last year. It was for the most part a happy party except for a few tears after the balloon release.
Today totally made up for yesterday.
It was a pretty busy day as far as sports assignments go. My first assignment was to photograph a dog shelter which was really sad but there was a pitbull being photographed in a tie so that was really cuteeee. Then I finally got to take photos of softball and baseball. It made me really miss playing but I realized that shooting softball is almost as stressful as playing it.
Nothing super exciting today, just some baptist guys building a wheelchair ramp.
I had two assignments today. The first one was team photos for the winter all county high school sports. The second one was of this lady who made panoramic sugar eggs for the children at her church on Easter Sunday. They’re like dioramas inside of these sugar egg molds.
Finally got an assignment this week and it was a cool one! There was a pickleball tournament at the YMCA. If you don’t know what pickleball is (bc I didn’t know that was even a thing until yesterday) it’s like a mix of tennis and ping pong but with a whiffle ball and paddles.
Didn’t have any assignments today. Luckily it was a nice day so I went feature hunting. I found this guy fishing but he wouldn’t give me his name, so I found this group of boys playing basketball and by that time the light was pretty. I had everything in front of me for a good photo but I still came up short. Welp.
Had to finish shooting the restaurant feature from yesterday which was really cool because the kitchen was really busy, and I got free food! Salmon and Filet are already pretty tasty, but they’re even better when they’re free. Also Chef Santos is an incredible chef soooooo
My first assignment for today was a restaurant feature for the magazine, and I’m not really sure how close I got to those flames but I still have my eyebrows so that’s all that’s important. Then I went to a dog training class which was pretty cuteeeeee.
